These terracottas are characterized both by the colors of the various clays found throughout Italy and also by the different firing METHODS that were used by the numerous kilns of past centuries which have unfortunately disappeared today. In these kilns the clays were cooked in bundles with wood deriving mainly from the pruning of olive trees. These procedures, depending on the temperatures reached in brick ovens, completed the various shades of this completely artisanal product ranging from brown to yellow.
